About Us

Not only do we offer healthy and environmentally friendly building products, we also design and handcraft stunning custom kitchens, solid wood furniture, interiors, millwork and fitted furniture.  We work closely with our clients to achieve the look and functionality they desire. Come by for a visit and linger in our beautiful old renovated barn. We are located on the south side of Hwy #26 just 4 km east of Meaford past Grandma Lambe's, Almond's Orchards and Ormsby's Garden Centre. The barn is also home to The Market, purveyors of local and organic foods.

The products we sell include Sleeptek organic mattresses and pillows, PaperStone countertops, American Clay wall surfacing, OSMO wood finishes, Ontario stone surfaces, reclaimed hardwood flooring, cork and bamboo flooring, landscape grids for grass driveways/sidewalks. EcoInhabit provides products for clients looking for quality and durability as well as for customers who are chemically sensitive or have environmental allergies.

EcoInhabit is proud of the energy efficient, healthy homes we build using the Durisol wall system. These homes will be mold free, sound proof, fire proof and, because of their thermal mass, extremely energy efficient. We can help you with home designs or adjust your designs to include the Durisol block. Durisol has been manufactured in Mitchell, Ontario since the 1950s and has been used in home construction for decades in Europe. We would be pleased to talk with you about your new home.

We are in the process of installing a show kitchen in the barn and hope you come to take a look. We have been building kitchens and custom cabinetry in our shop for over 20 years and truly enjoy working with our clients to create a functional, beautiful and personal space. Look for upcoming notices of special food related events to be hosted in our fully functioning new kitchen.

EcoInhabit hosts Transition Meaford meetings the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm. All are welcome. Come and browse the Transition Meaford sustainability library in the loft. The Transition movement, founded in England, promotes the development of resilience and self-sufficiency within a community. If you ever require a meeting space for your group or organization, we have a lovely board room you may wish to consider.
