Elsie's Diner opened in July 2013, on Highway 6, just north of Springmount before the drive in!   Elsie and Gordon Graham opened a garage/diner in Meaford in the late 50's called Bayview Motors.  Gordon was a mechanic and Elsie was a cook.   50 plus years later.....granddaughter Kris Heathers has opened Elsie's Diner in memory of her Grandma Elsie!

When you walk through the doors to Elsie's Diner, you are taking a walk back in time to the Fabulous 50's..  Come sit in a comfy booth or chat with the locals on a stool at the counter, Enjoy the great 50's music and experience our old fashioned customer service and great comfort food. 

Elsie's specializes in home cooked meals just like they served in the 50's.   Elsie's uses only fresh Grey-Bruce beef for their burgers.  Elsie's has several great burgers to choose from like our signature James Dean Burger topped with maple bacon, provolone cheese, our own BBQ sauce, tomato, lettuce and topped with an onion ring.  Or try our Fonzie Burger with carmalized onions, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce and lettuce and tomato.  For real hungry folks, you need to sink your teeth into our Big Daddy Burger.  A 12 oz burger with bacon, double cheese, caramalized onions, BBQ sauce with lettuce and tomato.   All of our burgers are served with fresh cut fries or you can choose onion rings, sweet potato fries or kettle chips served with delicious dips.  

Elsie's believes in using fresh local ingredients and cooking our food in our own kitchen instead of buying pre-made packaged food like most franchised restaurants.  We cook our own slow roasted turkeys for our hot turkey dinners and for our fabulous clubhouse sandwiches,  We slow cook our roast beefs and roast porks and breakfast hams.  We believe that our customers deserve to eat fresh cooked food just like Grandma made in the 50's.

We also serve many gluten friendly meals such as our pasta, pancakes and waffles.  Our burgers are all gluten free as well because unlike most restaurants, we do not add any fillers to our meat.   

One of our most popular menu choices is our fish and chips.  Our 7 oz haddock is lightly breaded using our own secret recipe and served with delicious fresh cut fries, tarter sauce and our homemade coleslaw.  Or try our liver and onions, meatloaf or mac and cheese.  

We serve all day breakfast with menu items like our Big Bopper Breakfast which includes triple eggs, triple toast and bacon, ham and sausage served with our homemade fried potatoes and onions.  We offer Eggs Benedict, and fabulous omelettes like our Gene Autry Western Omelette with bacon, onions and cheddar cheese.  Or try something truly unique....our Elvis Breakfast Sandwich which is a grilled sandwich with peanut butter, honey, bananas and bacon...sounds a little crazy but it really was Elvis' favorite sandwich and tastes delicious!  We have delicious homemade pancakes and waffles.  Come and try our tutti frutti waffle loaded with fresh fruit and whipped cream. 

Bring the kids as we are a family friendly diner with a great kids menu....our Lil' Darlin's menu has many choices which include your child's drink and ice cream sundae for $5.99.

 Elsie's serves delicious milkshakes, malt shakes and floats made with Chapman's Ice Cream.  Come see what our milkshake of the month is.  Guys, bring your doll for date night and share a warm brownie sundaes or a banana split, both topped with real whipped cream and of course a cherry.  Try our delicious tin roof sundaes or enjoy our warm home baked apple crumble with ice cream.
