To Our Friends of Habitat, During the past several years Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce has been very active achieving our goal of building affordable housing for low income families. In 2012 and 2013 we built 8 houses in Hanover, in 2014 we built 2 houses in Port Elgin, in 2015 we built a house in Tobermory and in 2016 we built a house in Sauble Beach. In 2017 we are ramping up our efforts and could use your help. As you know Canada is celebrating 150 years during 2017 and Habitat for Humanity Canada in conjunction with the Jimmy Carter Work Project has committed to building 150 houses across Canada. We are committed to build 3 of those houses during the year here in Grey, Bruce. Two houses will be built in Owen Sound and one house will be the first Habitat house in Ontario to be built on First Nations property. We are hoping that a successful build at Cape Croker will lead to many more builds for indigenous families throughout our area and all of Ontario.
